I have been hearing about the plight honey bees for awhile now so I was not surprised to see the people at Haagen Dazs have started a campaign to help. If you have a chance please visit help the honey bees and see how you can do your part.
I enjoyed a fantastic dinner last night with my friends Cheryl & Grif, owners of Back in the Day Bakery and Haylie (former shop girl, now big city girl) from Philly. It was so nice to catch up with Haylie and hear about all of her new adventures. If it were up to me all my girls would work for me forever and ever but they keep growing up and moving on. It is really nice to see how they mature and all the amazing things they are doing out in the "real" world. I keep thinking that when the shop turns 10 we will have a big reunion. Maybe a giant trunk show of all their work.
If you are anything like me you envy those city dwellers that have a cool street market on every corner. Savannah has had a hard time getting one going. The Starland Farmer's market and the occasional Mutations Craft Fair have a good following. Thanks to New Moon of Savannah the Savannah Market Baazar is making it's debut this Saturday in the old Sears building parking lot just 2 blocks south of Forsyth Park. It is the same weekend as the Sidewalk Arts Festival so the turn out should be good. The only way markets like this can survive is if we attend and buy. I know I will be going. I hope you will to.
Most people purchase music online and never venture into a store to actually buy a CD but I have to admit this is one I wanted to physically, not just virtually, own. I have now listened to it so much that my three year old is singing Gone, gone, gone.

Look at these great products by my new shop girl Liz Koomler, a SCAD Fibers Graduate. You can find her products at Stiches by Liz on Etsy.
My friend Katie was recently interviewed on a blog by Artsy Mama. It is such a nice piece I thought you all should read it as well. You can also get a peak at some of her terrific designs. Enjoy.

Lots of new goodies to share with everyone. Bunnies, chickies and birdies oh my.
We also have a new collection of jewelry, frames and magnets all made with very vintage looking parts. Typewriter keys, enamel tins, beads and faux bakelite findings.
A new collection of keepsake boxes, magic wands, signs and wands for friend, bride and baby. Delightful.
This is one of my favorite events hosted by the fibers department at The Savannah College of Art and Design. If you are in Savannah and your into handmade, I suggest you stop by.
We wrapped the shoot yesterday and I dismantled the holiday decor last night. Two long days of wrapping presents, tree decorating, stocking hanging, bed making, fluffing, landscaping, flower arranging, garland hanging, packing, unpacking, packing again and posing (yes-they took family pictures too, yikes.) Oh the glamorous life of a shop owner/photo stylist. I forgot to mention I got to style the shoot myself! An especially exciting endeavor because I got to work with the talented photographer Reed Davis. I am crossing my fingers that I get the opportunity to work with him again. Check out his site to see his fantastic pictures.
